Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

To be a doctoral student means to devote oneself to a research project under supervision of experienced researchers and following an individual study plan. For a doctoral degree, the equivalent of four years of full-time doctoral education is required.

The research group

Within our group we perform immunological research, and our focus is unconventional T cells, especially γδ T cells, as these immune cells have not so far been efficiently exploited. We are investigating γδ T cell reconstitution and functionality after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and in patients with solid tumors. This could help pave the way for more advanced and targeted approaches in cancer immunotherapy and in infectious diseases. We offer an engaging and international research environment where you may contribute to high quality research on an internationally competitive level.

The doctoral student project and the duties of the doctoral student

We are looking for a highly motivated person with an interest in human immunology.

The successful candidate will:

  • be responsible for the isolation and culturing of T cells from peripheral blood, as well as performing immunological tests of these cells.
  • collect and isolate lymphocytes from patients with ovarian cancer.
  • characterize the cells using a wide range of immunological and biochemical techniques such as flow cytometry, various immunoassays and immunoquencing.
  • carry out most of the experimental work and will plan the experiments, analyze data and interpret and summarize results.
  • participate in all research-related activities such as group meetings, departmental seminars, national / international seminars, as well as standard laboratory routines of the group.
