The International Classification of Functioning CoreSet Tool for Autism and ADHD - Feasibility, Psychometric Properties and Implementation
Do you want to contribute to better health for all?
To be a doctoral student means to devote oneself to a research project under supervision of experienced researchers and following an individual study plan. For a doctoral degree, the equivalent of four years of full-time doctoral education is required.
KIND, Karolinska Institutet Center of Neurodevelopmental Disorders, located in the heart of Stockholm, is a leading competence center for research, development, education, and practice within the area of developmental conditions. KIND is established in collaboration between Karolinska Institutet and Region Stockholm research aiming at improving clinical practice and the community for neurodivergent people and their families. We are a diverse team of around 50 researchers and enthusiastic clinicians sharing the vision of the center and want you to join us.
Previously, KIND has together WHO and the ICF Research Branch developed so called Core Sets of International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) for autism and ADHD, enabling individualized diagnosis-specific functional impairment and abilities classification and assessment. These Core Sets have now been implemented on an internet platform (https://icfcoresets.se) an await validation. Together with KIND’s director, the PhD student will guide the evaluation of the Core Sets platform for individualized functional impairment and abilities assessments for autism and ADHD.
The PhD student will in the project be operationally responsible for the coordination of four major study phases:
a) Piloting of the tool in a clinical Swedish setting. This part of the study involves the collection and analysis of quantitative data and the coordination of focus group/semi-structured interviews.
b) Piloting of the tool in an international setting. This part of the study involves collaboration with our international research partner regarding collection and analysis of quantitative data and the coordination of focus group/semi-structured interviews.
c) Quantitative and qualitative analysis of data collected in phases a) and b), followed by revisions of the tool based on the results.
d) Psychometric analysis and the development of Swedish norms for the revised ICF CoreSets-tool.
