Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

To be a doctoral student means to devote oneself to a research project under supervision of experienced researchers and following an individual study plan. For a doctoral degree, the equivalent of four years of full-time doctoral education is required.

The research group

Our research focuses on the development of radiopharmaceuticals for precision diagnostics, therapy and monitoring of cancer diseases.

Our research focuses on the development of targeted radiopharmaceuticals for theranostics, i.e. radioactive drugs that can be used both for therapy and diagnostics. Read more about our research at TRANslational Theranostics Group – Thuy Tran

The doctoral student project and the duties of the doctoral student

We are seeking a motivated and inquisitive PhD student to join our team in advancing the development of antibody-based radiopharmaceuticals aimed at enhancing the diagnosis and treatment of metastatic cancers. Our research focuses on the next generation of radiopharmaceuticals for both molecular imaging and targeted therapy of solid tumors, including prostate cancer, breast cancer, and pediatric malignancies such as neuroblastoma.

As a doctoral student, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary consortium that brings together expertise in drug screening, target validation, radiochemistry, preclinical models, and clinical translation. While the broader program encompasses a full translational pipeline, your project will primarily concentrate on:

  • Radiolabelling development and optimization
  • In vitro characterization of radiolabelled compounds
  • In vivo evaluation in preclinical tumor models
  • Preparation for translational studies, including GMP adaptation and early-phase trial readiness

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative research at the intersection of cancer biology, radiopharmacy, and nuclear medicine—working toward real-world impact in precision oncology.
