The Department of Biosciences and Nutrition performs research and education in several areas of medical sciences including cancer biology, aging, molecular endocrinology, functional genomics, systems biology, structural biology, protein biochemistry, immunology, and nutrition. It offers an excellent international research and working environment, including around 200 scientists, students, administrative and technical personnel. The Department resides in Neo at Campus Flemingsberg, a biomedical research building, aimed at being a creative and open environment that enables meetings, synergies, and exploration of areas of mutual interest across disciplines.

Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

The doctoral student project and the duties of the doctoral student

To understand the molecular mechanism underlying the regulation of antibody production in human B cells. This will help us to explore the pathogenesis of antibody associated/mediated disease such as immunodeficiency, autoimmune disorders, allergy and hyper IgE syndrome and to develop potentially curative therapy for patients suffering from these diseases.

The applicant is expected to be a talented and enthusiastic researcher with strong drive to excel in the field of B cell immunology. He or she is expected to play a strong role in the elaboration of scientific hypothesis, experimental design, experimentation, and presentation/publication of results. The candidate must be able to work within a team environment but retain enough independence to explore his/her results from a conceptual approach.
